ERC Sp. z o.o. invests PLN 1 million in Escola S.A.'s innovative e-learning platform solution Wellms
Escola Capital Group S.A., one of the leading web and mobile solution providers and e-learning solutions in Poland, has secured funding of PLN 1 million for the development of its proprietary e-learning platform Wellms. The new investor takes a stake in Escola LMS Sp. z o.o., a subsidiary dedicated to the development of the platform.
The new investor is ERC Sp. z o.o., a BRIdge Alpha fund of the PGE Ventures group, which invests in early-stage projects. This is the first investment round for the development of the Wellms platform and the first funds from an external investor raised by Escola LMS Sp. z o.o.
- We are convinced that the strategy chosen by Escola S.A. to create own products within special purpose spin-offs in addition to software house services is the right direction for further development, especially in the field of Ed-Tech - says Dr Krzysztof Wojewodzic, CEO of Escola S.A.
The PLN 1 million grant will be used to develop an e-learning exercise recommendation system based on artificial intelligence (AI) mechanisms.
- This investment project convinced us foremost with its complete and competent team, the incredibly sophisticated Wellms product and the first implementations - says Sebastian Kwiecień from ERC Sp. z o.o. - Personally, I also liked the team's ambitious plans. Every investor dreams of a unicorn, and I believe we have a chance to create a truly developmental company. Escola S.A.'s organisational capabilities and experience further reduce our investment risk.
- Today, a customer creating an e-learning course wonders how to choose the right exercises. AI can help by suggesting the most popular types of exercises for given topics. This will make the job of someone with little experience in creating online courses much easier. At Escola, we want to make e-learning effortless for both the user and the creator. As a result, the effectiveness of e-learning courses on the Wellms platform will allow us to compete more effectively on the global market - says Robert Rachwał, CEO Escola LMS Sp. z o.o., which develops the Wellms platform.
- Wellms platform attracts increasing customer interest. We are currently working on several implementations, half of which are overseas projects - adds Dr Krzysztof Wojewodzic.
The global e-learning industry will be worth $457.8 billion by 2026, according to a report by Reportlinker.com.
Wellms is a proprietary educational platform developed by Escola LMS, a company belonging to the Escola S.A. Capital Group. It is the only solution that allows creators to display content on any device, including a handheld reader used in logistics, display on fridge or a food processor (e.g. for recipes, cooking courses).
Wellms makes it possible to deploy a multimedia e-learning platform five times faster than established competitors. Development plans include the ability to display training content on non-obvious devices apart from those commonly used in e-learning, such as VR / AR glasses, smart TV or HHT (handheld terminals). With Wellms, companies, organisations and universities can efficiently launch their own training environment with video, audio and animation content, even in a distributed organisation.
